Ola Maciaszek Senior Tutor

Ola is a student of the Part III Mathematics in Cambridge University. She has studied a number of pure and applied courses, and is currently specialising in Logic and Sets. She has completed two internships in trading and quantitative analysis over last two summers and is aspiring to work in the finance industry after graduation. Rob Olliffe Senior Tutor

Mathematics graduate from Queens’ College, Cambridge. Rob has over 4 years of tutoring experience, helping many students achieve their GCSE, A Level and STEP/Oxbridge application goals. At university he specialised in mathematical physics: quantum mechaincs, classical dynamics and special/general relativity, but is also well versed in pure maths – mainly group theory and analysis. He has completed two Quantitative Trading internships over the past two summers, and will be starting as a full time trader next year. Hence, he has a very strong understanding of both trading related economics and careers/interviews in finance/financial technology.

His tutoring style is extremely interactive. Each session is a continuous conversation – whether it be in-depth explanations or his students walking him through their thought processes, Rob’s communicative teaching, spots hidden gaps in knowledge, and concretely fills them. With 4 years’ experience working for an exam board, designing question papers and marking scripts, Rob understands deeply how to master exam preparation.

Angela Tsui Senior Tutor

Angela is a recent graduate of English at Cambridge University. With over 4 years of tutoring experience in both Hong Kong and the UK, she is familiar with and adept at teaching the English syllabus offered at A-Level, IB and GCSE/IGCSE. She is also open to providing guidance on the Oxbridge written test for English admissions, the ELAT. Having received top marks for history and philosophy at A-Level – then going on to specialise in Greek and Roman tragedy as well as Cold War literature at university – Angela is equally capable of teaching classics, history and philosophy at A-Level and GCSE standards. She is currently based in London and is about to begin work as a full-time journalist.

To ensure that the student achieves their highest potential in exams, Angela’s teaching can be very much exam-oriented: she focuses on methods of literary analyses (especially in response to unseen passages), structuring essays and writing techniques such as signposting and effective summarising. However, she also believes in teaching in a way that cultivates genuine interest in the humanities, and is always eager for an informal, enthusiastic conversation about literature and its adjacent fields

Dom graduated last year with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Bath. He has over 3 years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics throughout university. He has had continued success with students across the ability spectrum, and strongly believes that a great teacher can bring the best out of any learner.

He has a relaxed but sincere teaching style, stating: ‘I think that the role of a personal tutor is to be on the same team as the student, rather than just another schoolteacher.’ He runs lessons in a primarily exam-focused style, using exam-style questions as a foundation, constructing the building blocks of what a young person needs to maximise their potential.
